* validations on User class, to avoid sql injections.
* post check if the url already exists, if this is the case then redirect to the meme
* new urls rewriting added
* change permalink for url of memes
* changes on look for better browser support
* popular and unpopular memes scripts

Aprovechamos de anunciar que ahora akarrú usa el Bazaar como herramienta de control de versiones. Pueden revisar el código fuente actual de akarrú explorando esta url: http://www.akarru.org/bazaar.

Si quieres trabajar en una rama de akarru, descarga bazar y ejecuta este comando:

# bzr branch http://www.akarru.org/code/akarru

Y tendrás una copia viva del código fuente.

We are using Bazaar now as our version Control Software.
The old SVN repository on Sourceforge will be shutdown at jan 31.

You can browse the repository at http://www.akarru.org/bazaar url.

At last I have released akarru-0.6.0.2, the first release under 0.6 version.

This release is a big structural change. Is more easy to install and deploy akarru.
Akarru is faster now, capable of 80 requests per/second on 1 Gb Dual Xeon processor at 2.8 GHz
without much tunning on php and mysql, we are using smarty caching on main pages.

We will add phpdocumentor comments on this and future releases.

This release has a new look and feel.

Ajax improvement, because now we use JSON instead of XML.

I will write soon about version 0.6 plans.

I've started the work on the new version of Akarrú.

Next Akarrú will be called Akarrú CPE, for Content Promotion Engine.

We will focus more on the promotion of content.

A new SVN respository will be configurated soon.

The new release will be handled on this site, and SourceForge will store the final tar balls only.

Hello, welcome to akarru blog.

Until Today Akarru was a Social Bookmarking Engine. Now we think we must expand our goals.
We want to extend akarru services for Communities.

Akarru is used in the blogmemes network, and we want to allow this network to grow, so we will make some improvements on the base technology.

Our main goals on the short time, are these:

# Performance, we want akarru to be fast.
# Security by design, improve security and eliminate any possible vulnerability
# Documentation, we lack of good documentation.
# Easy Installation, akarru is dificult to install.
# A new look and feel.
# Secondary goals: support for multiple database engines, full support of PHP5, we will not mantain support of PHP4 or earlier.

In the middle time we want

# Exploration of the memesphere, I will write on this on a next post.
# Add more features, like rss feeding, personalization, search engine, cache of pages.
# Add microcontent, like mini posts, headline news, 100 words short stories, etc.
# Add a better support for multimedia.

All these goals will be expressed on a Roadmap, I will write about it in the next posts.
